Light2USA began as a small group of dedicated individuals passionate about sharing the transformative power of “The Great Controversy.” Inspired by the urgency to spread the Three Angels’ Messages, our founders embarked on a mission to distribute these books across the nation. Over the years, our commitment has grown, supported by a community of like-minded individuals and generous donors.

It was mid October, 2020, Light 2 USA’s founder awakened at 3am and within a matter of seconds a plan for how to distribute THE GREAT CONTROVERSY had come to mind. Carl shares that he believes this came to him from having read the night before this statement for the book, Colporteur Ministry

The Great Controversy should be very widely circulated. It contains the story of the past, the present, and the future. In its outline of the closing scenes of this earth's history, it bears a powerful testimony in behalf of the truth. I am more anxious to see a wide circulation for this book than for any others I have written; for in The Great Controversy, the last message of warning to the world is given more distinctly than in any of my other books.—Letter 281, 1905. CM 127.1 Ellen White

Carl reached out to friends from the Stateline SDA church in Milton Freewater, OR. Soon after they submitted the plan to the church board and it was agreed to introduce the plan to the church on Dec 26, 2020.

The slogan was to TARGET AMERICA with a postcard mailed to every door in the USA. This postcard would offer a FREE copy of THE GREAT CONTROVERSY.

Talk about HUGE, yeah, so HUGE that only by God’s abundant grace will could such an effort go forward. Our goal - to REACH 137 million homes across America. You guessed it, we are talking MILLIONS of Dollars, let me just say, I believe GOD has that much money. Some of it may be in YOUR pocket/purse.

Light 2 USA is a completely volunteer based ministry. This makes it possible to print and mail a full color postcard for only 19 cents each when done in quantities of 100K.

Folks often ask, “what results do you get”? Of course we can provide data based on the number of requests received but here is a quote from Gospel Workers that seems to have application -

“The Measure of Success

There are ministries that measure their success by the number of church buildings constructed, how many wells drilled, orphans fed, or people baptized. At Light 2 USA we measure success by our obedience to the Lord's commands and abundant counsel to share the printed word.

"The Duke of Wellington was once present where a party of Christian men were discussing the possibility of success in missionary effort among the heathen. They appealed to the duke to say whether in his judgment such efforts were likely to prove a success commensurate to the cost. The old soldier replied:

"'Gentlemen, what are your marching orders? Success is not the question for you to discuss. If I read your orders aright, they run thus, ‘Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.’ Gentlemen, obey your marching orders.'" Gospel Worker, p. 115

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?

A valid question. Some have ask, “why not coordinate with others to avoid overlap?”

This is also a good question. We have an answer to this latter question is - “Publications must be multiplied, and scattered like the leaves of autumn. These silent messengers are enlightening and molding the minds of thousands in every country and in every clime. —The Review and Herald, November 21, 1878.–{CM 5.2}

Some ministries like to leave a book at every door whether wanted or not. We applaud every effort. But we do cringe a bit to see books way-laid. Light 2 USA is committed to mail to every home and business in AMERICA. But, we mail a small card at much reduced cost than that of sending or leaving a book. With this card folks may order a FREE copy. Our cost for this - $0.19 each home. We understand that there will be some overlap. For this we are grateful and happy. Because, there are stories by some who have received more than one copy of the book, one well known SDA evangelist in particular told how he did not respond until the third book had been given him.

Our response is, let the “leaves” stack as much as is required to get through to whoever may be a seeker for truth.

Most Important Work

“If there is one work more important than another, it is that of getting our publications before the public, thus leading them to search the Scriptures. Missionary work—introducing our publications into families, conversing, and praying with and for them—is a good work and one which will educate men and women to do pastoral labor.” CS 145.1

“Let every Seventh-day Adventist ask himself, “What can I do to proclaim the third angel's message?” Christ came to this world to give this message to His servant to give to the churches. It is to be proclaimed to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people. How are we to give it? The distribution of our literature is one means by which the message is to be proclaimed. Let every believer scatter broadcast tracts and leaflets and books containing the message for this time. Colporteurs are needed who will go forth to circulate our publications everywhere.” CS 145.2

“The world is to receive the light of truth through an evangelizing ministry of the word in our books and periodicals. Our publications are to show that the end of all things is at hand.” CS 146.1
